The Carolina Tigers women’s tackle football team announces Winston-Salem as their new home
The Carolina Tigers Women’s Tackle Football Team is proud to announce that Winston-Salem, North Carolina, will be their official home as they prepare to compete in the American Women’s Football League (AWFL) for the 2025 season. The Tigers will be one of 22 teams in this prestigious women’s tackle football league, bringing high-energy, competitive football to the community.
With the inaugural season kicking off in 2025, the Carolina Tigers are already building a strong foundation. The current roster consists of 25 talented women, ranging in age from 19 to 47, who are ready to represent Winston-Salem with pride and passion. However, the team is looking for 28 more athletes to complete the roster and invites women of all shapes, sizes and skill levels to join this groundbreaking team.
To recruit new talent, the Carolina Tigers will be hosting a free tryout event on Saturday, Jan. 18, from 12:30- 2:30 p.m. at the Greensboro Sportsplex, 2400 16th St. in Greensboro. Women interested in trying out for the team are encouraged to attend and bring their determination and love for the game.
