INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) senior Cierra Thompson earned her place as one of the best in the nation when she was selected to take part in the 2020 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Championship Meet. This marks Thompson’s second selection to the indoor track & field national championship meet, in addition to her earning a trip to the 2019 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championship Meet in May.

Thompson earned a spot in the women’s 60m dash at the national championship meet after running one of the top times in the nation. She will enter the meet in the 11th spot after running a 7.54 in the women’s 60m dash at the Clemson Opener. In her last trip to the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Championship Meet in 2018, Thompson placed 20th in the women’s 60m dash with a 7.77.

The 2020 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Championship Meet will be held on March 13-14 at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Ala..
