Truliant Federal Credit Union has promoted Jafonda Johnson to the role of Member Financial Center manager at its Kernersville location.
Johnson is responsible for financial oversight of the branch and developing vital skill-sets of a seven-person team aimed at creating strong financial relationships and remaining member-owner’s preferred financial institution.
She started in her new role in January and will continue to oversee Truliant’s Victory location in Winston-Salem until a new manager is named. Johnson began her career with Truliant in February 2000 as a Member Contact Center representative. Later that year, she transferred to its collections department with a focus on members experiencing financial hardship. She was later promoted to Bankruptcy Specialist.
In August 2008, Johnson accepted a role as manager of Truliant’s Victory location and was instrumental in achieving milestones in loan, deposit and membership growth in the downtown Winston-Salem market.
“Jafonda has earned this new opportunity because of her consistent high performance in her current role, strong example of leadership, diligence and talent,” said Rik Kielbasa, senior vice president member experience.
Johnson said she is excited to pursue a new opportunity with Truliant, adding, “It’s truly exciting to be a part of an organization that continues to strive to make a difference in the lives its member owners.”
Prior to joining Truliant, Johnson completed a four-year term in the U.S. Navy. While working at Truliant full-time, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Strayer University.
