United Way of Forsyth County to host Sneaker Ball May 3

Start looking for your best gown and tux and the best kicks you can find. United Way of Forsyth County has announced the date for its annual Sneaker Ball.
The Sneaker Ball, which will be held Saturday, May 3, at Bridger Field House at Wake Forest University’s Allegacy Field, is United Way’s premier fundraising event where the community is invited to come dressed in their best formal wear and their most unique and eye-catching sneakers.
The gala style event will feature a DJ, saxophonist Bryan Patterson, Jr., dancing, dinner and drinks, as well as a silent and live auction. Auction items include golf packages, custom art, Wake Forest sports tickets, a wine experience, and so much more.
Tickets are $100 each and tables are available for $1,500 each. Money raised from the Sneaker Ball provides support for the organization’s mission to serve as a convener, collaborator and catalyst for Winston-Salem and Forsyth County.
“This year marks our third Sneaker Ball, and it has quickly emerged as an annual event that the entire community looks forward to attending each spring,” United Way of Forsyth County President and CEO Antonia Monk Richburg said. “There’s plenty of free parking and easy access at Bridger Field House, and United Way looks forward to hosting a fun evening that helps generate much-needed funding for our partners and programming.”
United Way has initiated a goal to move 3,500 families out of poverty over the next 10 years. In a press release the United Way stated that moving that many families out of poverty means creating pathways to financial stability through access to quality education, workforcestraining and essential support services. “It requires a holistic approach, ensuring families have stable housing, livable wages and opportunities to build generational wealth. By aligning resources, partnerships and policy efforts, we aim to break cycles of poverty and create long-term economic mobility. This bold goal represents a commitment to not just providing temporary relief but driving sustainable change for families in Forsyth County. And that is why United Way needs everyone’s support,” the statement reads.
