Webinar on Sept. 21 to feature two outstanding speakers fighting ageism
August 25
14:00 2021

“Ageism from the Inside Out and the Outside In” will be presented virtually on Sept. 21 from 12-1:30 p.m. If we identify with youth and deny age, we are unaware of our ageism against ourselves and unknowingly support institutional ageism in our culture. Dr. Connie Zweig, bestselling author of “The Inner Work of Age: Shifting from Role to Soul,” shows us how to meet this “inner ageist,” which has profound consequences for our self-acceptance, health, and capacity to discover the treasures of late life.

Through her classic on ageism, “This Chair Rocks: A Manifesto Against Ageism,” Ashton Applewhite launched a worldwide crusade against ageism and woke up millions of people to the fight for age justice. Together for the first time, Connie and Ashton will explore the inner and outer worlds of ageism – and why both inner work and social activism are needed now, when for the first time in history there are more people over 60 than under 18.

You won’t want to miss this exceptional discussion between two leaders in the field – moderated by a third thought leader, Harry (Rick) Moody, author, lecturer and renowned gerontologist.

The webinar is free to attend, but registration is required. Register to attend by Sept. 17 by going to https://www.encorenetwork.org/event-archive/ageism-from-the-inside-out-and-the-outside-in-with-ashton-applewhite-and-dr-connie-zweig/.

Thank you to The Shepherd’s Center of Greater Winston-Salem for sharing information on this upcoming discussion.
