Winston-Salem Police Department Foundation committed to building community trust and partnerships
Founded in 2015, the Winston-Salem Police Foundation’s goal and mission is assisting our own Winston-Salem Police Department with enhancing community partnerships, and most importantly, establishing and building trust and communication between the Police Department and the community it serves. The Foundation’s overall strategy is to strengthen community relationships, build trust and provide financial resources for the Winston-Salem Police Department that would otherwise go unfunded, resources focused on community initiatives and partnerships, police training and technology, dedicated to making our community a safer and better place for all residents to live and prosper.
The Winston-Salem Police Foundation has four Strategic Pillars of Opportunity we focus on in our community and continue to support the Winston-Salem Police Department in these areas. These four pillars are:

The Foundation’s efforts in cooperation with the Winston-Salem Police Department continue and include support for the following community programs:

Buddy Book Club with the Salvation Army of Greater Winston-Salem

Scholarships for High School Seniors – initiated in 2020
Book Bag Giveaways for underserved communities
Movie Night with the DASH – a free community event for local families
National Law Enforcement Retreat at the Cove
Officers taking kids to baseball games and amusement parks
Technology to help our Police Department provide a safer community for our children such as software to catch pedophiles
We believe it’s important for our community to see the many different areas where the Winston-Salem Police Department engages in efforts to build a better community based on trust and open communication. We support the women and men of the Winston-Salem Police Department as they continue to engage with the community to listen, learn, participate and respond during this time.
The Winston-Salem Police foundation remains committed to building trust between our community and the Winston-Salem Police Department. We are excited about the community spirited programs the Winston-Salem Police Foundation has funded. The foundation will continue to strive to be an effective organization helping to foster trust between the Winston-Salem Police department and the community they serve.
