Women invited to WSSU football camp
Winston-Salem State University will hold its Second Annual Women’s Football Clinic on Saturday, June 15.
The goal of this annual clinic is to give women a more thorough understanding of the sport they watch so devotedly each fall while having a great time interacting with WSSU players and coaching staff.
Last year’s clinic was an indoor information session covering fundamentals and general rules. This year, organizers are taking it to the field and stepping up the intensity. The program will cover offensive drills, defensive drills, formations and the meaning of referee signals.
From die-hard football fans to newcomers who just want to understand what their boyfriends or husbands are yelling about in front of the television each weekend, the Women’s Football Clinic offers something for everyone, according to organizers.
The clinic will begin with breakfast at 9 a.m. and will last until approximately noon. The morning will conclude with a presentation of certificates of completion signed by Head Football
Coach Connell Maynor.
The registration fee is $20 and includes a t-shirt, breakfast and a raffle ticket for an autographed football jersey.
