WSSU alumna Byrd lands new job
The Department of Foundational Studies and Academic Support at Davidson County Community College recently hired Michelle A. Byrd as the curriculum development specialist.
In her position, Byrd is responsible for collaborating with instructional personnel in development, implementation and evaluation of contextualized curriculum.
“My primary role as the curriculum development specialist is to assess how effectively the curriculum meets the needs of the students,” says Byrd. “As George Washington Carver once said, ‘When you do the common things in life in an uncommon way, you will command the attention of the world.’”
Byrd received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology with a minor in biology from Winston-Salem State University and a Master of Science in educational psychology from Capella University.
