WSSU’s Marcel Caver Jr. invited to Detroit Lions rookie mini-camp

Winston-Salem State University senior wide receiver, Marcel Caver, has been invited to the Detroit Lions rookie mini-camp for a tryout and opportunity to sign a rookie deal.
The 6-2, 185-lb. senior from Bedford heights, Ohio, played two seasons at WSSU after transferring from Youngstown State. Caver led the Rams in catches in 2015, with 36.
During his career at WSSU, Caver played in 20 games and amassed 76 receptions for 1,001 yards and four touchdowns. He was a part of the 2015 CIAA Championship team for the Rams.
