On May 14, the Winston Lake Family YMCA held the 18th annual Black Achievers In Business and Industry Awards Gala at Wake Forest Biotech Place.
During the gala, community leaders were recognized for their lifetime achievements, distinguished service and minority owned businesses.
High school seniors within the Black Achievers Program were recognized for their scholastic achievement and awarded a total of $27,050 in scholarships.
Adult achievers were recognized for excellence on behalf of their corporations and or community sponsors.
The Black Achievers program prepares future leaders today for tomorrow, by helping them develop strong educational and career goals that give them an advantage in their endeavors to become productive adults in our community.
