Winston-Salem Industries for the Blind and its A Brighter Path Foundation will host their premier fundraising event, “After Dark,” on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 6:30 p.m.

Now in its ninth year, “After Dark” will be held at Tracy’s Little Red School House, the home for services for children who are blind or visually impaired in the Triad.  Tracy’s Little Red School House resides on the Winston-Salem Industries for the Blind (IFB) campus, which is located at 7730 North Point Blvd.

Presented by Salem Optical Company, this year’s event will showcase the wide variety of services provided by IFB and A Brighter Path Foundation for individuals who are blind and visually impaired in the community. In addition, the popular dance band, The Wallers, will play throughout the evening.  The group has been a top dance band and show group on the East Coast for the past several years. The siblings are all great lead vocalists who are highly choreographed, beautifully costumed, high energy show-stoppers. They are backed by their own five piece multitalented band.

A Brighter Path Foundation funds programs and services such as the Community Low Vision Center, The Blind Side, and the Student Enrichment Experience (SEE) operating out of Tracy’s Little Red School House. These innovative programs and services reach people of all ages who are blind or visually impaired from young children to senior citizens.

The Community Low Vision Center has served 73 N.C. counties to date through services such as low vision exams and placement of adaptive technology across NC using Mobile Low Vision Care. The Student Enrichment Experience (SEE) provides recreational and educational activities, which fosters independence for students who are blind or visually impaired in the Triad and Western North Carolina.

The event is open to the public and admission is $100 per person. Funds raised from the event will directly benefit the important programs and services supported by A Brighter Path Foundation for people who are blind or visually impaired in the Triad community and across North Carolina.
