New music degrees offered
Greensboro College’s Department of Music has received permission from its accrediting body to launch two new programs within the department.
The college now will be able to offer B.A. and B.S. degrees in music with concentrations in either contemporary improvisation or digital music production. The accreditation was granted by the National Association of Schools of Music, the department’s accrediting body.
“These concentrations will enable our Department of Music, which has long been one of our academic mainstays, to remain on the cutting edge of music education in the 21st century,” said President Lawrence D. Czarda.
In its plan approval, the association stated, “The Commission commends (Greensboro College) for providing these new innovative programs that capitalize on its liberal arts commitments and its desire to provide forward-looking curricula.”
