Forsyth County Social Services recognized with two Best Practice awards
Forsyth County Department of Social Services employees took home two honors at the Social Services Institute’s Best Practice awards held in Hickory on July 31.
Linda Gaskins and Gerri Brooks were recognized in the Advancement in Staff & Leadership Development category for their Career Pathways & Talent Development Model, which was implemented during the 2017-18 fiscal year.
Gayle Swain was recognized in the Cost Savings Measures and/or Improvements in Efficiency category for her work implementing an Employee Safety Recognition Program.
Forsyth County DSS Director Victor Isler said he was pleased to see the recognitions.
“For years, FCDSS has made great strides in developing staff and ensuring we have a safe workplace,” he said. “Receiving these awards only validates our intentions and hard work. I’m honored to be a part of this team and the best is yet to come.”
The Social Services Institute is part of the North Carolina Association of County Directors of Social Services, which works to improve public policy and strengthen the capacity of local county Departments of Social Services in delivering effective services to families and individuals.
