Mental health crisis services to be topic at Town Hall meeting

Forsyth County residents are invited to a Town Hall meeting focusing on local mental health crisis services at the Health and Human Services Annex 1 Auditorium, 725 N. Highland Ave., on Thursday, Aug. 7, from 6-7:30 p.m.  Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.  

 The Town Hall meeting is being held by the Forsyth County Behavioral Health Services designed to raise awareness about the behavioral health crisis resources available in the area and to foster open dialogue between community members and local service providers. Local providers of mental health support and services will have table displays designed to share information about their services and resources and to answer questions from the public.   

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear directly from experts in the field, ask questions, and learn more about how to access support during times of mental health crisis. 

Panelists will include: 

*Ashley Golds – Daymark Recovery Services – Mobile Crisis Services and Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center 

*Brent Motsinger – Forsyth County Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) 

*Kristin Ryan – Winston-Salem Behavioral Evaluation and Response (BEAR) Team 

*Marti Webb – RHA Health Services – Crisis Facility Services 

“We want every resident to know what resources are available, how to access them, and that they are never alone in a time of crisis,” said Michael Duncan, Behavioral Health Services Director for Forsyth County. 

 All residents, service providers, and community stakeholders are encouraged to attend. No registration is required.
