Phil Rector, broker/owner of Rector Realty, has received the prestigious Regional Service Award from the North Carolina Association of Realtors. The honor recognizes one outstanding realtor in each of 10 regions in the state who has contributed to and continues to serve his or her local, state and national associations.

Rector has served on the Board of Directors of the Winston-Salem Regional Association of Realtors for seven years, including as president in 2009. He has also chaired the Administrative Committee and Strategic Planning Committee and co-chaired the Cultural Diversity Committee and Joint Legislative Committee.

A member of the North Carolina Association of Realtors for 31 years, Rector has served on the Service Corporation Board of Directors since 2010 and the NCAR Board of Directors since 2008. He is actively involved on the Equal Opportunity & Cultural Diversity Committee, serving as its chair in 2010.  Rector is also involved in numerous education efforts through NCAR, serving on the NCREEF Board of Directors in 2009.

On the national level, Rector has participated as a member and regional representative on the National Association of Realtors Housing Opportunity Committee since 2011.

Very active in the community, Rector currently serves as director of the Center for Homeownership, an agency dedicated to helping potential homeowners through the homeownership process, and a member of the Zoning Board and Loan Review Committee. Since 2003, Rector has volunteered his time as a fourth grade mentor at Easton Elementary School.

Rector, a real estate professional since 1982, was named the 2012 Realtor of the Year by the Winston-Salem Regional Association of Realtors. The award recognizes a member who has made a significant contribution to the real-estate industry through professional and volunteer endeavors.
