Three months after it began, the filing period for the 2022 primary election ended statewide last Friday and the campaign season is officially underway.
The East Forsyth boys basketball team had a good year under second year head coach Monty Gray. The team was led on the floor by Gray’s son, Will. For their efforts, Gray and son were named coach and player of the year in the Central Piedmont Conference (CPC).
During the special session, the official portrait of the Honorable Denise Hartsfield was unveiled. Hartsfield, who retired earlier this year after serving as District Court Judge for more than a decade, is the first woman to have a portrait in the Forsyth County Courthouse.
Earlier this week the Winston-Salem City Council voted to move forward with a partnership with Experiment In Self Reliance, Inc., to reimburse those who were impacted by the Weaver Fertilizer Fire.
The 2022-2023 football season doesn’t officially begin until late summer/early fall, but 336 Elite, a local 7-on-7 organization, is giving local athletes the opportunity to prepare for the upcoming season, while also competing on a national stage.
