The faculty and staff of Carver High School continue to encourage students to aspire for academic excellence.

As part of that mission, the school’s 14 “A” Honor Roll students – Shaqueira Carson, Nautica Leslie, Melissa Quiterio, Bre’Anna Samuels, Breanna Hall, Jibril Muhammad, Joshua Thomas, Shaya Brown, Michael Jimenez, Danielle Moses, Darren Moore, Ribyan McClain, Rashaun Rousseau and Brittany Patrick – were honored on Feb. 15 for obtaining such an academic feat.

In all, 180 students made the honor roll during the grading period. An Honor Roll Luncheon, sponsored by HanesBrands, was held. All honor roll students were given a $20 gift card to Buffalo Wild Wings. In addition to the gift card and a certificate, “A” Honor Roll students were also given a $50 gift certificate to the HanesBrands Outlet Store.

“A” honorees have plans for college and beyond.

Michael Jimenez plans to attend North Carolina A&T State University and pursue a degree in architectural engineering. Danielle Moses, who plans to attend Wake Forest University, says the benefits of being academically successful drive her to study hard each day.

“I like receiving good grades,” she said. “I study because I know what the end result will be: academic success. Also, the teachers at Carver encourage you to do your best and are very supportive.”
