This past Sunday, Fellowship Church held Wellness Sunday in lieu of their traditional morning service. Wellness Sunday is a part of “Summer Stretch,” which is a series of services by the church to enhance the mind, body and spirit.
St. Anne’s Episcopal Church and St. Stephens Episcopal Church performed a pulpit swap last week, to connect their congregations.
The Elizabeth M. Tilley Gleaner Branch #68 and the Mary L. Fair Gleaner Branch #137 traveled to Fayetteville State University and participated in the 44th annual Youth Assemblage held July 11-13.
Rev. Ronald Fisher recently retired from Dreamland Park Missionary Baptist Church after 35 years as senior pastor.

Burkhead United Methodist Church, 5250 Silas Creek Parkway, will be led by Dr. Carl Manuel for another year. Manuel is the first African American preacher in the history of the church and will be heading into his third year in that capacity.
To date, the conference has awarded over $250,000 worth of scholarships over the years. This year the conference handed out $16,000 worth of scholarships to 16 seniors from around the area.
The Emmanuel Baptist Church Layman’s League and Veteran’s Ministry united to present a forum entitled Youth, Law and Justice on Saturday, June 8.
