Billed as “Drum, Hum, Strum Music Camp for Adults,” the week was filled with activities including learning drumming, the dulcimer, hand bells, karaoke and an art class designing record album covers. It all concluded on Friday, Aug. 4, with a Suite Showcase where the campers performed for an appreciative audience.
Since 1962 Senior Services Meals-on-Wheels program has delivered over seven million meals to older adults in Forsyth County. Senior Services is grateful for the thousands of volunteers who have given their time to not only deliver nutritious meals, but also share meaningful moments of human connection with older people who need them.
Through this program, participants from faith communities, senior centers, community centers or other organizations that serve or support older adults in the county, can attend free educational sessions that will provide information about a comprehensive array of aging resources in our county, as well as the skills to empathetically speak with and support those seeking information.
In 2022 the Shepherd’s Center achieved record levels of services in all areas. Through the dedication of over 300 volunteers and a dedicated staff, more older adults in our community benefited from the wide variety of services offered.
