The holiday spirit permeated the Benton Convention Center last Thursday evening as thousands came together to celebrate Christmas.

For the past decade Love Out Loud, a local non-profit, has partnered with local churches, businesses, and other non-profits to host Christmas for the City and this year the event was bigger than ever. Imagine the entire city coming together for a Christmas party and you get the idea of Christmas for the City.

The event had something for everyone. There were live performances, arts & crafts, food, vendors, photo opportunities, and of course, a special appearance from Santa Clause.

While helping her grandson at the Cookie Decorating Station, Teresa Robinson said it was her first time attending Christmas for the City but it wouldn’t be her last. Robinson said, “I think it is great that we have something where everyone can celebrate the holidays. There are people here from all walks of life and that’s what the holidays are all about – coming together.”
