Zion Memorial Baptist Church Pastor’s Aid and pastor Dr. Joseph Jones will present their Valentine’s Day program on Sunday, Feb. 17 at 4 p.m.

Evangelist Jacqueline Y. McArthur will be the special guest. She will present the skit, “Bag Lady.”

A blessed singer and stage performer, McArthur starred as “Mama” in Jerry Weakly’s “I Don’t Know What I’d do Without the Lord,” which was staged throughout Texas from 1998 – 2000. She also sang with The Commanders while living abroad in Grafenburg, Germany, where she also conducted black history programs.

McArthur has been married to Charlie McArthur Jr. for 33 years. They currently live in Angier. McArthur attends Bible Truth Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Raleigh, under the ministry of Pastor Jimmy Smith and First Lady Gloria Smith, but still claims the Prayer & Word Church in Landover, Md. as her home church.

Charlie McArthur Jr. retired from the Army in 2010. His military career has taken the couple to many places, Germany and Texas among them.

Though they have no children of their own, they have been guardians to three nephews and a niece. McArthur is currently attending Wake Technical Community College, where she is studying medical office administration.

Zion Memorial Baptist is located at 101 North Dunleith Ave. Everyone is welcome to attend. For more information, call the church at 336-725-7390.
