Robert Colon will take his skills to the professional ranks after he was selected in the second round of the New Entry Draw of the National Superior Basketball (Baloncesta Superior Nacional) professional league.

SAN JUAN, PR – After a successful collegiate career, former Winston-Salem State University Rams guard Robert Colon will take his skills to the professional ranks after he was selected in the second round of the New Entry Draw of the National Superior Basketball (Baloncesta Superior Nacional) professional league. The selection makes Colon the first WSSU basketball player to reach the professional ranks since former Rams great WyKevin Bazemore.

Colon was selected in the second round of the New Entry Draw by Santeros de Aguada. The team is based in Aguada, Puerto Rico and competes in the National Superior Basketball League. The team is coming off of a successful 2019 season where they reached the 2019 BSN Finals.

The move the professional ranks comes after great career for Colon. He completed his career with Winston-Salem State University with a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) championship and earning the title of CIAA Tournament MVP. He also earned CIAA all-conference honors and he was named the CIAA Rookie of the Year as a true freshman HE finished his career with 1,737 total points to rank seventh in school history in scoring, including hitting 227 three-pointers to rank second in school history in that category. He also earned a spot on the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District team and a spot on the BOXTOROW D2 All-American Team twice.
