Years in the making, the city’s newest greenway is finally ready for the public to enjoy. Creative Corridors Coalition invites the public to explore the new Twin City Trail, which runs west to east along Salem Parkway from the Peters Creek area to the Strollway.

Walk & Roll Fest is happening Saturday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. This free, family-friendly event features food trucks, a 5K fun run, guided bike ride and walking tour, music, and tents with info and activities provided by community partners like Kaleideum, Piedmont Environmental Alliance, Forsyth Humane Society, Crossroads Cycling Co, and more. Bolt, the Winston Salem Dash mascot, is also scheduled to make an appearance in the morning.

Walk & Roll Fest will be based out of Truist Stadium off Broad Street and encourages participants to walk, bike, stroll, and generally explore the path eastward to the Strollway bridge and return to the start. There will be a raffle every hour (9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 12 p.m.). Parking is free at the ballpark until 1 p.m.
