SECCA has received a $10,000 challenge grant from an anonymous donor.  From now until June 30, gifts to the art gallery will be matched 100 percent up to $10,000 to support SECCA’s exhibitions and educational offerings.

“This gift comes at a vital time for the arts center. We have remarkable programs and events coming up, but we need help,” said SECCA Executive Director Mark Leach. “Every donation will have an impact on SECCA’s ability to reach more people in our community and expand knowledge of how art of all types enriches lives.”

Leach points to “ The Intersections Project (TIP)” as one of the examples of how SECCA is touching the lives of the local community. The program is designed to bring practicing artists into schools for short residencies. Students from Wiley Middle School, for example, recently worked with California-based video artist Sarah Rara to create a film from drawing, scratching and manipulating film strips.
