First Waughtown Baptist Church, 838 Moravia St., will conduct Vacation Bible School from June 23 – 28. Rev. Dennis W. Bishop is senior pastor at First Waughtown.

VBS will begin at 5 p.m. on Sunday with the screening of the film “Soul Surfer,” the inspirational story of a teen girl who returns to the water after losing an arm in a shark attack.  Light refreshments will be served.  Classes will be held Monday-Friday from 5:45–8:15 p.m.  A repast will be served during the week from 6–6:30 p.m., followed by classes and activities for all ages.  The theme for the week is “Tell It on the Mountain.”

Transportation will be available for Winston-Salem residents.  Children under five must be accompanied by an adult, and all unaccompanied children must have a permission form signed by a parent or guardian.  Forms are available at the church and from the van driver. Those needing transportation should call transportation coordinator Ronnie Wiggins at 336-918-9297 at least one day in advance and leave a name, phone number, address and the number of persons to be picked up.
