Triad author Gamma Jan (Janet Johnston) has not stopped teaching and educating children despite her retirement from the teaching profession.

She continues her passion to teach life-long lessons to children through her books. Her second book, “Something Really Important,” shares the story of a little girl, Sharik, and her grandmother and their little discussions about what people need to live, things like food, clothing and shelter. But Grand has something else to teach Sharik, something much more important than those three things that people need to live – love.

Jan’s collective experience in traveling all around the world, teaching, and interacting with people of different ages, races, cultures and beliefs has allowed her to write this simple yet educational book for children to learn that there is something more important than what the body needs.

Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, the book is available through bookstores nationwide, from the publisher at www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore, or by visiting barnesandnoble.com or amazon.com.

Johnston is a retired schoolteacher who was in the classroom for 30 years. She volunteers in the community with organizations like the Guilford College Community Civitan Club and New Garden Friends Meeting.
