The Mami Wata Cultural Arts Collective will perform at Delta Arts Center, 2611 New Walkertown Road, on Saturday, March 2 at 11 a.m. as part of a series of events designed to spotlight the gallery’s current exhibit, “Samplers & Symmetry IV: Pieces by area African-American Quilters.”

The all-female interactive cultural arts and performing group will present two family-oriented events centered around the themes of traditional African-American quilts, freedom and justice, the power of women and family and cultural connections.

“Samplers & Symmetry IV” features African-American quilting, which is as old as the history of America. Deeply rooted in tradition and heritage, this age-old craft still flourishes among African-American women of all ages. The exhibit is on display through March 16.
