It was Jenkins’ third end-of-year award, after picking up Coach of the Year accolades from the MEAC and the AFCA FCS Region honor. In just three seasons with the Maroon and Gold, he has helped lead the Wildcats to two MEAC titles (2010, 2012) and two NCAA FCS Playoff appearances (2010 and 2012). This past season, he led the Wildcats to their first 8-0 MEAC mark in school history and the first unblemished conference record for B-CU since 1984.

Since his arrival, Jenkins has compiled an overall record of 27-8, and an unprecedented 21-3 mark in MEAC play. The Wildcats finished the season as the only ranked HBCU program in the Sports Network FCS College Football Poll Top 25, coming in at No. 22 on the list. The Cats have also won their last 13 consecutive MEAC contests dating back to the midway point of the 2011 campaign.

Three of his players, Terrance Hackney, Harold Love III and Eugene Solomon, were each named to the All-America Team.
