Brittany Lane, the pitcher for the Winston-Salem State Softball Team, was named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association “Pitcher of the Week” for the last week in March, after going a perfect 3-0 for the Lady Rams.

The senior took the honor after taking the Lady Rams to a doubleheader sweep at Brevard and a key CIAA Southern Division win over Fayetteville State.

For the week, Lane appeared in three games, throwing for 19 innings. She finished with a 0.47 ERA with 21 strikeouts and just two walks. She recorded nine strikeouts at Brevard and eight in one game against Fayetteville State.

Lane and the Lady Rams are 14-1 in CIAA play. The team was slated to return to action yesterday at Brevard College.
