The Winston-Salem Sportsmen Club is considering inductees to the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Sports Hall of Fame.

For more than 30 years, the Sportsmen have selected accomplished athletes, coaches, athletic directors and other supporters of local athletics for inclusion in the Hall. There are currently more than 230 members, each of whom have their names inscribed on the hallowed walls of the Sportsmen’s headquarters in The Gathering Place building at the corner of Sixth and Cherry streets.

Last year, 14 people were inducted, including local coach legends and former standout players.

In order to be considered, an application must be submitted along with a sports portfolio and resume. Applications are available at all local high schools; at the Winston Lake Family YMCA on Tuesday evenings between 7:30-8:30 p.m. (when the Sportsmen hold their regular meeting); or online at www.wssportsmenclub.org.

The application deadline is March 12. Inductees will be announced in April. They will be feted at an induction ceremony.
