Nick Canon’s “Wild ‘N Out” returned to national television July 2 for its sixth season with help from local talent.

North Carolina funny-men Anthony “Chico” Bean and Brian “B Daht” McLaughlin, members of Greensboro-based Freestyle Funny Comedy Show, are slated to be a part of the MTV2 show this season.

“I’m excited about the new season of Wild ‘N Out. Filming the show is an awesome experience that I’m thankful for. I feel like I’ve grown so much as a comedian perfecting my craft,” said Bean, who’s entering his second season with “Wild ‘N Out.”

McLaughlin, a deejay at 102 Jamz, said, “I’m just so humbled and honored to be featured in the sixth season of ‘Wild ‘N Out.’ It’s really a dream fulfilled. I’ve learned a lot from being on the stage with other seasoned comedians.”

The Freestyle Funny Comedy Show group has done stand-up at countless comedy clubs and university theaters throughout the state and beyond.

It is made up of Chico, B Daht and improv veterans Darren “Big Baby” Brand and Demar “Osama Bin Drankin” Rankin. Each member of the group is a proud alumnus of either North Carolina A&T State University or Winston Salem State University.

Since 2009, The Freestyle Funny Comedy Show has been winning over audiences around the country, including at more than 50 universities, with its unique approach to the live comedy experience.

The Freestyle Funny Comedy Show will host its next improv comedy show on Sunday, July 20 at The Comedy Zone in Greensboro. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show starts at 8 p.m.
