Red H.E.A.R.R.T (Help Educate And Reduce Risk Today) will hold four Zumba flash mob exercise events on Friday, Feb. 1 from 4:30-6:00 p.m. at Hanes Mall (downstairs level atrium below the Hanes Mall Food Court) to promote women’s heart health. The program is free and open to the public.

Women’s Wellness & Fitness will lead the Zumba sessions and show participants how easy it can be to incorporate exercise in to their lives. The sessions will begin at 4:30, 4:45, 5:10 and 5:30 p.m.

The event will also feature heart health information, health-related games, prizes and free blood pressure and body mass index screenings performed by students in the Winston-Salem State University nursing program. Peggy Joines, community affairs officer at Wells Fargo, will serve as the event’s honorary chair.

Feb. 1 is National Wear Red Day, which was started by the American Heart Association to promote awareness of women’s heart disease education and prevention. Go Red For Women is AHA’s national awareness movement that celebrates the energy, passion and power of women to join together and wipe out heart disease, the number one killer of American women and men.
