North Carolina Central University has established the John Neville Distinguished Professorship in Visual and Performing Arts with a $500,000 endowed gift from the C.D. Spangler Foundation. The professorship is named in honor of John Neville, a facilities maintenance technician who has worked at UNC for more than 33 years. Here, Neville and his wife and son, Clerise and Jonathyn, pose with former UNC President Spangler (right). NCCU will use the professorship to attract a scholar who will support teaching and research in visual and performing arts.
