The Winston-Salem Centennial Commission is making the Centennial website available to residents and organizations to share their centennial events and memories.

Any organization that is having a centennial-related event can have information about that event posted on a separate page reserved for this purpose. To submit an event for the website, go to W-S100years.com, scroll down to “Community Centennial Events” at the bottom of the page and click on “Read More.” Organizations and residents are also invited to submit their favorite photos or stories of life in Winston-Salem, to be posted on the website. On the home page, scroll down to “My Winston-Salem Memories” and click on “Read more.”

The centennial website lists details about all the events during the four-day centennial celebration from May 9 to May 12, including information on how to participate in the Centennial Parade, sign up as a vendor for the Party in the Plaza, register for the Centennial Scavenger hunt, reserve free tickets to the Centennial documentary or register for the Centenarian Luncheon.

Also, registrations are now being accepted for the Centennial Scavenger Hunt, offering a top prize of $100 to the winning team.

The hunt will begin at BB&T Ballpark at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 11. Registration includes admission to the after party that starts at 7 p.m. Registration is limited to the first 100 teams of two. The registration fee is $50 per team. Children under the age of 18 may participate when accompanied by an adult who is 21 or older. The Centennial Scavenger Hunt will take teams on a journey through the last 100 years as they hunt through downtown Winston and Old Salem. The event will include the arts, history, people, and industries of Winston and Salem and their consolidation into today’s dynamic city.

For more information about the Centennial Scavenger Hunt and all Centennial events or to register, go to W-S100Years.com or send an e-mail to wscentennialhunt@gmail.com.
