Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church has honored Angela Hunter Pope for dedicated service to its music ministry.

Over the decades, Pope has served as a pianist, organist and choir director for the Inspirational Youth Choir, the Henry S. Lewis Cathedral Choir, the Men’s Chorus and the Chapel Choir.

She is now a member of the Deaconess Ministry, the Health Ministry and the Titus 2 Women’s Leadership Ministry.

She often proclaims her testament, “Just let me live my life … let it be pleasing Lord to thee. And if I gain any praise, let it go to Calvary. To God be the Glory!”

Pope is the daughter of Dorothy R. Hunter, a former musician and a lifelong member of Mount Pleasant, which is located at 495 NW Crawford Place and is led by Bishop Sherwood T. Davis.
