Chris Paul and Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame team up to host HBCU Tip-Off and Challenge
Over the years the Ministers’ Conference of Winston-Salem and Vicinity has awarded more than $300,000 in scholarships to deserving high school students headed to college. The Ministers’ Conference added to that number last week at Hanes Memorial CME Church where they recognized the 2023 Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship recipients.

Greater St. Matthew Baptist Church sponsors back-to-school Community Day
Billed as “Drum, Hum, Strum Music Camp for Adults,” the week was filled with activities including learning drumming, the dulcimer, hand bells, karaoke and an art class designing record album covers. It all concluded on Friday, Aug. 4, with a Suite Showcase where the campers performed for an appreciative audience.
