Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate Pastor Waymon L. Monroe Jr.’s Sixth Pastoral Anniversary on Sunday, March 10 at 11 a.m. Dr. Tejado Hanchell, senior pastor of Mt. Calvary Holy Church, will preach.

Monroe, a city native, became pastor at Solid Rock in December 2007. His vision is to build and develop a kingdom of empowered people for God. He holds firmly to the commissioned mandate in Matthew 28:18-20: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations.”

Monroe is married to the former Leola Carruthers, and together they are blessed with three children, Antonio, Miosha and Alexis.

Hanchell attended St. Augustine’s College in his native Bahamas, before being awarded a full scholarship to attend Baltimore’s Morgan State University, where he earned a BA in Sociology. He is also a graduate of Calvary Bible Institute in Washington, D.C. and Loyola College in Maryland, where he received an MS degree in pastoral counseling. He earned a P.h.D. from the School of Global Leadership and Entrepreneurship at Regent University.

Hanchell shares his life and ministry with his wife and covenant partner, Rev. Victoria F. Hanchell. They are the proud parents of two beautiful children, Zaria and Zion.

Solid Rock is located at 3010 Carver School Road. The public is invited to this joyous occasion.
