Stephanie Dance-Barnes, interim associate provost, dean of the University College of Lifelong Learning and associate professor of cell and molecular biology at Winston Salem State University, has been named dean of the College of Science and Health at DePaul University in Chicago. She begins her appointment July 1.
Dance-Barnes has degrees from Elizabeth City State, North Carolina A&T, and was the first African American female to receive her doctorate from Wake Forest University School of Medicine in the area of cancer biology and toxicology. She previously worked at UNC’s Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center.
