Student musicians to join PWS for concert

The Piedmont Wind Symphony will continue its tradition of offering music education and performance opportunities to young musicians next month when select local middle and high school bands will perform with the Symphony.



The Thursday, March 7 concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. at Brendle Recital Hall in Wake Forest University’s Scales Fine Arts Building. Jeff Whitsett, PWS’s associate conductor, will lead the group in the rendering of such selections as “Espana Rhapsody,” “Persuasion,” “Third Suite,” “Suite Francaise” and“Dixieland Jam.” Robert Simon is the conductor of the Piedmont Wind Symphony.

Tickets are available at the door. They are $15 for adults, $10 for senior citizens and $5 for students. Audience members are invited to join the musicians for a reception in the lobby immediately following the performance.
