For the first time since the decision to levy a quarter-cent sales tax was presented by the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners, last week the public had the opportunity to share their thoughts on the levy that is intended to be used to increase teacher pay across the local school district.
Sometime this month the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners will make a decision on a motion to include a quarter-cent sales tax increase on the ballot in 2020. The capital acquired from the tax increase is expected to be used to increase local teachers’ supplements.
Discussions on redeveloping the four-acre property into a 60-unit apartment building have been going on for a few years.
During their meeting on Thursday, Nov. 15, the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners approved a budget ordinance to increase Latent Tuberculosis (TB) infection screening in the area.
Incumbent Fleming El-Amin and Tonya McDaniel came away with the victories over Tony Burton and incumbent Everette Witherspoon.
