The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Board of Education unanimously chose Trina Bethea last week to be the next principal of Walkertown Elementary School.

She has been a principal in Guilford County Schools since 2007. She has led Madison Elementary School in McLeansville since 2011. Before that, she was principal at Hairston Middle and Joyner Elementary schools.

She will replace Jay Jones, who will become the principal of Walkertown High School after this school year ends.
Bethea earned a bachelor’s degree in communications and a master’s degree in counseling education from N.C. A&T State University and a master’s degree in school administration and a doctorate in education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
