Worship and Arts Day at Galilee
September 26
00:00 2013

Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, 4129 Northampton Drive, will celebrate Worship and Arts Day on Sunday, Sept. 29 during both of its services – 8 a.m. and 11 a.m.

At 4 p.m., there will be a special worship extravaganza with various ministries, including choirs, mimes and dance teams. This year’s theme is “Greater is Coming!”

The Worship and Arts Ministry of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church is committed to promoting the worship of God in spirit (reverence, attentiveness, right purpose of honoring God) and in truth (God’s word) through the arts. Its goal is to inspire, encourage, train and direct those whom God has called into the worship ministry with a spirit of service and excellence.

“The Worship and Arts Ministry of Galilee represents a diverse group of people who are focused, committed and dedicated not only to their church but to their God!” said Willie J. Mason, minister of worship and arts. “We have been blessed with some of the best musicians, vocalists, gifted dance and mime teams to lead our church into worship like never before.”

Earlier this year, Dr. Nathan Scovens, senior pastor of Galilee, recognized Worship and Arts as one of the exceptional ministries of the church because of the “life and energy” it brings to the worship experience.

“When worshippers get together, anything can happen,” Scovens said. “Get ready for a life changing experience through worship and the arts.  We sing and shout because we are happy, but we worship because He’s worthy and we desire to experience the presence of an almighty God.  I’m excited, because Greater is coming.”
