Winston-Salem State University’s Nathaniel Hartung has been named the offensive lineman of the week by the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA).
Hartung, a junior, helped guide the WSSU Rams’ offense to 500 yards of total offense and a convincing 35-3 win over Bowie State University. The win moved the Rams to 5-0 overall, and 2-0 in the CIAA. Hartung, a native of Butler, Penn., is hard to miss on the field. He is 6-2 and a powerful 380 pounds.
This marks the fourth week this season that a WSSU Ram has earned a player or coach of the week honor from the CIAA.
Winston-Salem State will travel to Charlotte this weekend to take on the Johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls at 4 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.
