The Camel 5k Fun Run and 1-Mile Walk is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 29. This annual event serves as a fundraiser for the athletic program at Atkins High School.

Race time is 9 a.m with check-in at Carl Eller Field (where Atkins plays its home football games) from 8-8:45. The course covers the rolling hills of the Atkins campus, along with the Winston Lake Park area.

Atkins athletes will be present to cheer on the runners and music will provided by a live DJ.

Race fees are as follows: $20 for adults, $15 for students. All participants will receive a custom-designed t-shirt. For more information, call the school at 703-6754.
