Parkland combo guard, Minnie Griffin, has excelled in her second stint with the Mustangs. Griffin recently eclipsed the 1,000-point mark in her career at Parkland by averaging 31 points per game this season.

Talitha Vickers has blessed the Triad community with her on-air work and community service for years. After years of effort and planning, Vickers now has become an author by releasing her first book, “Why My Hero Had to Go.”

Another area player has his dream come true of playing on the next level. Glenn High School senior wide receiver, Markell Lloyd, recently signed his letter of intent to play football at Johnson C. Smith University (JCSU).

The Super Bowl did not turn out the way that many of us predicted. Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in blowout fashion. The 31-9 victory by the Bucs in their home stadium was really a total shock.

Winston-Salem native Ray Agnew was recently hired as the assistant general manager for the Detroit Lions. Agnew will be working under Brad Holmes, who was hired as the general manager for Detroit.
