SPECIAL TO THE CHRONICLE

Mount Olive Baptist Church held its Mock Wedding program on Sunday, March 20, at the church, 1301 CE Gray Drive in Winston-Salem.

This event was sponsored by the 2016 Pastor and Church Anniversary committee. The Mock Wedding was held to commemorate the pastor’s 37th and Church’s 107th anniversaries.

The winners were: Bride, Miss Carla Fowler and Groom, Mr. Jaelon Maxie.

The runners-up were: Matron of Honor, T’ona McBride and Best Man, Joshua Lewis. Second place: Bridesmaid, Jailyn Smith and Groomsman, Jared  Lipscomb. Third place: Bridesmaid, Dahlia Thompson and Groomsman, Nicholas Brown. The flower girls were Genesis Graham and Morgan Halsey. The youth of the church also provided the music for the mock wedding ceremony with soloist Anaisjah Williams singing “Usher Me,” Isabella and Lula Jennings performing “Give Us This Day” and ChauDre Gray along with Nicholas Brown singing “Close to You.” Refreshments were served in the church fellowship hall immediately following the ceremony.
