Two Novant Health leaders have been named among the “Top 100 Under 50 Diverse Executive & Emerging Leaders” by Diversity MBA Magazine, which profiles current leaders as a means to inspire and motivate up-and-comers.

Michael Nnadi, PharmD, vice president and chief pharmacy officer for Novant Health, and Dr. Chere Gregory, medical director of the neurosciences department at Forsyth Medical Center, were selected based on their position within their company, for their scope of responsibility, community service work and education achieved.

The honorees will be featured in Diversity MBA Magazine’s summer 2012 issue and will be honored at the magazine’s Awards Gala in September.

Nnadi provides pharmacy services to 13 hospitals. He initiated consolidation of pharmacy among Novant’s hospitals and has assisted in improving medication safety which reduced 30 and 60 day readmission rates and returns to the emergency department. Nnadi and his team successfully developed innovative roles for technicians to advance pharmacy practice in North Carolina by starting an associate degree in pharmacy education.

Gregory was the first African American woman to complete a fellowship in neurocritical care at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and the first African American women in the U.S. to open and direct a neurocritical care unit. Under her leadership, Forsyth Medical Center became the first hospital in North Carolina and South Carolina to earn The Joint Commission’s accredited Primary Stroke Center designation. Dr. Gregory is also an integral member of the team that envisioned and recently launched the Maya Angelou Center for Women’s Health and Wellness at Forsyth Medical Center.
