Leading up to the start of the 2022-2023 school year, dozens of nonprofits, businesses and other organizations held school supplies and book bag giveaways for local students. Instead of opting for the norm, Rally Up Winston-Salem invited the community to come together and pray for local students before the start of the new school year.

The Winston Lake Golf Course played host once again for the annual fundraising golf tournament for the Winston-Salem Stealers basketball organization on Aug. 20. Organizers, led by the Robinson Group, Beautiful Countenance and others, wanted this year’s tournament to be the best one yet.
Brandon Davis accomplished a lot during his time with the Reynolds Demons baseball team. He collected a host of accolades and honors that has garnered him a lot of attention from the next level. After serious consideration, Davis has chosen to play his college baseball at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC).

Walk With A Doc, the AARP initiative to encourage seniors to walk for health, chose the perfect summer morning to kick off their new program. On Saturday, Aug. 13, over two dozen people gathered at the Newell-Massey Greenway on Waterworks Road to walk and talk with Dr. Elijah Beaty, who is in the Department of Cardiology at Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Health.
