Transportation planners coming to town
Transportation planners from throughout North Carolina will convene in Winston-Salem May 15-17 for their annual conference. Citizens who are interested in transportation issues are welcome to register and attend.

The North Carolina Association of Metropolitan Planning Organizations conference will be held in the Embassy Suites Hotel. N.C. Transportation Secretary Anthony J. Tata will provide the opening address. The keynote address will be delivered on Thursday by Mark Fenton, a transportation, planning, and public health consultant, author and PBS television host. The heads of the N.C. DOT divisions will speak Friday.
The conference will also offer sessions on such topics as roadways and design, freight and commercial transportation, urban circulation, and bike and pedestrian design.
