READWS will host a presentation by Emily Hanford, an award-winning APM senior producer and correspondent, who is sending viral shockwaves through the educational community with her investigative reports on why our nation’s children still struggle to read.
At the Winston-Salem Foundation’s event, “Better Communities and Better Lives: A Keynote and Conversation with David Brooks” at R.J. Reynolds Auditorium, the foundation’s President Scott Wierman announced a centennial gift to the community to commemorate the foundation’s establishment 100 years ago in 1919.
Candidate filing for the 2020 election opened at noon on Monday, Dec. 2. The filing period ends on Dec. 20 at noon. Candidates can file at the Forsyth County Board of Elections, 201 N. Chestnut St. Next year’s primary is March 3 and the General Election will be Nov. 3.
Psi Phi Chapter Of The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. has had a reputation for giving to those in need in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County community for many years. The members of the chapter went shopping on Nov. 26 to purchase Thanksgiving dinner groceries for families in our community.
